About the Vision 2020 Toast to Tenacity™
This August 26th marks 97 years since the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution took effect, granting women the right to vote.
For the past four years, Vision 2020 has commemorated this date – which has been designated as National Women’s Equality Day – with its Toast to Tenacity™, during which women, men and youth pause for a unified salute to the suffragists and the subsequent generations that have brought us closer and closer to gender equality.
By participating in the Toast to Tenacity, you will join Vision 2020’s national team, Delegates and Allies from across the country in raising awareness of the significance of this historic milestone, as well as honoring the women who persevered against the odds, enduring ridicule and even jail to win this right for all American women.
Participate on Social Media
Between now and the August 26th Toast to Tenacity, we encourage you to use the hashtag #ToastToTenacity in two ways:
- Post a picture of yourself with a tenacious woman in your life, explaining in the caption why you are virtually toasting her. Use the hashtag #ToastToTenacity.
- On August 26, at or close to 1 p.m. EDT, post a picture or video of yourself toasting your glass to the suffragists. Use the hashtag #ToastToTenacity.
This one hashtag will connect all Toast to Tenacity participants across the country!
